Christopher Klinga, P.E., Principal & Founder

As a 15-year industry veteran, Chris brings a unique skill-set to the team. He has an extensive background in solar installation design and product development.

His career started by developing cutting-edge solar modules and racking systems at Lumos Solar. Chris’s innovations enabled Lumos to lead the niche market that they established and their products are distributed globally today.

Chris has a tireless passion for tackling the most challenging solar installations and product development opportunities.

In addition to being the Principal and Founder of SolMotiv, Chris serves as the Technical Director of the Architectural Solar Association, and holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado in Boulder, CO. He has obtained NABCEP PV Installer certification, and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Colorado and Texas.

When Chris isn’t integrating solar into the architectural envelope, he is most likely climbing, biking, or backcountry skiing with his wife and two sons. (LinkedIn Profile)

Ross Cooper, EIT , Design Engineer II

Ross started his career with SolMotiv as an engineering intern in 2018. Over the last several years Ross has developed an acumen in both electrical and structural design. He has been instrumental to the most cutting edge BIPV installations in the country. Whether it be a PV screenwall integrated on a Brooklyn high-rise, integrating solar into hail protection canopies, or designing custom off-grid BIPV bus stops, Ross’ skillset embodies the full scope of services SolMotiv provides.

Ross holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado in Boulder, CO and is currently a NABCEP Board Certified PV Installation Professional.

When Ross isn’t integrating solar into architecture, he is most likely climbing a flatiron or riding his bike to Wyoming just because he can. (LinkedIn Profile)

Ian Center, EIT , Design Engineer I

Ian started his career with SolMotiv as an engineering intern in 2021. Ian has brought to SolMotiv a knowledge of Revit that enables our team to collaborate on the most demanding architectural projects.

Ian holds a B.S. in Architectural Engineering from the University of Colorado in Boulder, CO.

When Ian isn’t designing unique solar workflows in Revit, he is most likely bouldering somewhere in the flatirons or playing bass at a local gig with his band.

Stella Meillon, Engineering Intern

Stella started with SolMotiv in the summer of 2023. She is currently studying Mechanical Engineering at CU Boulder and plans to graduate in 2024. Stella is a Colorado native and is fluent in French.

When Stella isn’t working with the SolMotiv team on cutting edge architectural solar projects she is likely hiking, climbing, or traveling the globe. She recently completed a study abroad program that brought her to Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
